-The Compassionate Corner
Our Mission
The Compassionate Corner is an inclusive and supportive environment, where individuals with special needs come together to create a positive impact in each other’s lives. Here, we foster personal growth and development by engaging participants in both individual and group activities. We concentrate on personal training exercises designed to improve daily skills and group activities to increase socialization. We aspire to enhance each participant’s capabilities by involving them in exciting, educational experiences to achieve realistic and attainable goals. Our select caregiving staff are equipped to handle all ADL (Activities of Daily Living) needs with direct attention to inclusivity, empowerment, and community.
The Compassionate Corner serves adults, age 18 and over, with developmental disabilities, physical limitations, traumatic brain injuries and mental illness. We provide services Monday through Friday. Drop off time is scheduled from 8:00am-8:30am. Pick up is scheduled from 3:00pm-3:30pm. Participants can set their weekly schedule upon intake, and make changes as needed.
Our qualified care staff are trained in each client group and tailor care to each individual’s specific needs. We assist with all ADL’s, including personal care assistance and medication administration. Our care team is trained through the State of Wisconsin Caregiver Registry for CBRF Certification to ensure the highest quality of care is provided. Each member of the team receives, at a minimum, ten hours of continuing education yearly and are trained on each new participant and their servicing needs.
Our goal is to maintain a safe and inviting atmosphere where our participants are able to socialize, engage in group projects, explore new activities and participate in community outings. We provide recreational opportunities and space for individuals to meet with vocational specialists they may be working with to obtain community employment.
To ensure all participants establish and obtain new goals, The Compassionate Corner will hold individualized meetings with the participants and their care teams to update and improve their individualized service plans twice yearly. Care staff will document updates weekly in each participant’s record and encourage growth to achieve their goals.
Our philosophy is to promote independence, encourage growth for each participant and ensure participants are enjoying their time at the program by emphasizing each person’s strengths and fostering a sense of community. We respect the dignity of all participants and focus on the use of positive reinforcement. We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all who attend. We have protocols and procedures in place for emergencies, health monitoring and incident reporting.
